Shared medical equipment is a known source of pathogen transmission, playing a significant role in the spread of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), which contribute to longer hospital stays, increased costs and greater patient mortality. Despite the risk, routine cleaning between uses is often inadequate – frequently challenged by time pressures, ambiguous responsibility and insufficient training.
The CLEEN Study1 published in The Lancet showed a 34.5% reduction in HAIs using Clinell Universal Wipes and protocols, proving that more frequent cleaning saves lives. The CLEEN Cost Saving study2 published in The Journal of the American Medical Association showed that following the same protocol generated savings of $642,010 per 1,000 patients.
