How to use

FAQs

Q: What does the product smell like?

A: The product is fragranced with fresh linen so should smell pleasant for the user and others in the vicinity. You may occasionally smell a light ‘vinegar’ odour, this is the smell of peracetic acid and is completely normal.

Q: How wet should the cloth be?

A: Once the cloth has been submerged in the liquid solution, GAMA Healthcare recommend wringing the cloth out until it is damp. The cloth should not be soaking wet or dripping with liquid.

Q: Does the product leave streaks?

A: You may see some streaks on high gloss surfaces like stainless steel, glass and mirrors. This is common with all disinfectants and also happens even if you’re only using water. If you witness any streaking, we suggest lightly buffing high gloss surfaces with a dry cloth 5 minutes after applying the disinfectant.

Q: Should the product be shaken / mixed?

A: As per the IFU, the product should be gently agitated for 5 seconds after you have added the pod to the water. Please remember to replace the lid before gently agitating.

Q: I can see powder at the bottom of the flask, is this normal?

A: Yes, the powder that you can sometimes see at the bottom of the flask is one of the key ingredients, citric acid. Citric acid helps us ensure the product stays active for 24 hours. This will dissolve over time.

Q: What temperature water should be used?

A: By following the IFU, if you run a hot tap for 30 seconds, the water will typically be around 38-40ºC. The temperature may differ at each facility so it is important to check this prior to use.

Q: How long does the product take to activate?

A: Once you have added the pod to the warm water, the product will take 15 minutes to reach the desired concentration. You can use this time to note the expiry date on the flask or do other tasks.

Q: Why is the liquid not clear?

A: The product contains fresh linen fragrance which makes the liquid look hazy. This is not visible when the product is applied to a surface.

Q: How long does it last once activated?

A: Once you have activated the product it will be stable for 24 hours. Each time you prepare the solution, make sure you note the expiry on the flask with the date and time. This will tell you when to dispose of the solution.

Q: Are there any chemicals that Enhanced Pods are not compatible with?

A: Yes, Enhanced Pods are not compatible with chlorine-based products, such as sodium hypochlorite and calcium hypochlorite. If these products have been used in the area, we recommend removing any residue and performing an initial clean with a neutral detergent before using Enhanced Pods.
