Wash or decontaminate your hands. (Risk assess PPE according to local policy).Always wipe surfaces from clean to dirty.Depending on the blood glucose kit, you will need approximately 2-3 wipes.Empty the contents of the box or kit.Clean the outer surfaces of the box, followed by the inner surfaces. Ensure that all segments have been wiped.Leave the blood glucose kit to air and dry, allowing sufficient contact time with the disinfectant.Remember to replace the wipe should it dry out or become visibly soiled.With a new wipe, clean all reusable components and allow them to air dry.Return or refill any consumables for the kit.Dispose of cleaning wipes as per local protocol.Remove PPE, wash or decontaminate hands and, if required, complete a record of cleaning, as per your local protocols.
